Vicar Andrew Coop

Greetings to you in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

My name is Andrew Coop, and I am the 18th Vicar to serve the members here at Trinity Lutheran Church, and the community of Howards Grove. I was installed on August 14th, 2016.

A few brief biographical things about me:

  • I was born at Camp Hansen Naval Base on Okinawa, Japan (My father was serving as a Navy Chaplain at the time).
  • I moved to the United States when I was one year old, and spent the rest of my childhood in Minnesota.
  • I moved around a few times throughout my childhood, my dad accepting calls to four different churches since coming back to the United States, all keeping us in Minnesota.
  • I graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin in 2014 with a BA degree in Pre-Seminary Studies, and Theological Languages.

I am now engaged to my beautiful and wonderful fiancée Ashley Birenbaum! It’s a very exciting time for me!

I enjoy staying active, doing an assortment of things from running to lifting, and from biking to playing basketball.

I look forward to spending my year here with you all in Howards Grove, and look forward to growing in God’s Word together, bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all people we come in contact with, and living out our faith together!

In Christ,

Vicar Andrew Coop
